FAQ’s

How do you catch COVID-19?

The COVID-19 virus is transmitted by respiratory droplets. If an infected person sneezes or coughs they spray out virus-loaded droplets. Other people can breathe in the droplets and may become infected too. It is possible to get infected by COVID-19 if you touch a contaminated surface and transfer the viruses to your face.

What symptoms do you get with COVID-19?

You can expect the following symptoms if you have a COVID-19 infection:

  • cough
  • fatigue
  • fever
  • shortness of breath

Some people infected with COVID-19 have no symptoms at all. They can still infect other people though.

Do I need a COVID-19 test?

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19 consider testing yourself for this viral infection.

How do I test myself for the Coronavirus?

Order one of our easy-to-use COVID-19 tests by filling out your details and completing payment.

The test kit consists of a throat swab that you use to collect a sample. We include simple instructions with each kit so you can quickly and easily get a sample that will allow us to test you for this viral infection.

The kit comes with a postage-paid envelope so you can return your sample to our accredited UK-based laboratory.

How long does shipping take and time to get my results?

The whole process takes between 3-7 working days. All samples are in a sealed test tube and do not require time specified return or refrigeration.

When you place your order it will be dispatched the next working day by courier.

It will then take 1-2 working days to reach you.

When you receive your kit, carry out the test and send the sample back, it will take 2-4 working days to reach the lab.

Upon reaching the lab they will process it within 1-2 working days and as soon as completed the lab will let us know the result, we will then contact you with the results.

Thank you for your patience, we are trying our best to speed up the process as much as possible at each stage.

Is the product illegal to be sold in the UK?

No it is not illegal;
We are currently selling a self-swab throat and nasal home collection biological sample kit.

The DNA collected by the swab is sent to our UKAS laboratory where it is analysed and resulted under sophisticated conditions which reflect the standards carried out.

What is the test? Does it tell if I have Covid 19 or if I have had Covid 19 in the past?

This tests for the presence of the virus on swabs. A PCR test looks for the presence of the RNA of the virus itself. This means that it will pick up the presence of the actual virus in the nose and throat.

It is very accurate and will be able to confirm whether anyone with symptoms is actively infected with the virus. It will also pick up whether the virus is present for people who have been exposed but are not showing any symptoms as yet.

This is a more expensive test as it requires more technical expertise.

It will also be able to confirm whether someone has the virus in their nose and throat for the 14 days or so before they show any symptoms

What does 99.9% accuracy for the Covid 19 testing mean?

“On trials from the laboratory .. 99.9% accuracy. … to be collected and sent back to our accredited UK laboratory for testing. … This means that it is possible to spread the virus without having any symptoms”.

Our test is sensitive to fewer than 100 copies of the target viral RNA, making it a highly accurate test.

If I get my test Friday or Saturday can I send them back today after taking the sample or is it better to do it next week on Monday?

(“…as I’m not sure how long the delivery might take and whether it will arrive on Saturday”.)

Sending the sample back on any day will not affect the sample specimen. It is in a sealed test tube which does not require time specified return or refrigeration. However it is dependent on royal mail delivery / collection at this time.

What happens if my COVID-19 test is positive?

Our patient services team will support you with advice and signposting if your COVID-19 test is positive. You should self-isolate to avoid infecting others. Do not attend a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. The NHS has advice on COVID-19 that will help you decide what steps to take.
